Generally speaking these pretty insects are vegetarians, which consume a various range of plants. However some species also don't deny a bit of meat from other animals on their diet. Usually grasshoppers are found in areas with low growing vegetation, where they can hide in shrubs and grass. This species can reach a size of 32 mm in length. Their large compound eyes on each side of the head can detect movement, color, shape and distance of it surroundings and transport the information to a neural knot in the grasshoppers head.
