Inthe central and southern partsof Fannin, Grayson and CookeCounties, the soil is principallywhat is known as the blackwaxy soil, a soil that is richand productive and capable ofthe most trying cultivation. These counties are wellwatered by numerous streams,by wells, at depths from 25 to 50feet, and artesian wells from 600 to 800 feet in depth.
