As my lady wakes a glimmer of light creeps throughthe great niche in the mountains, throwing a trail of lightacross the quiet bosom of the river. The niche becomes adiadem of incomparable magnificence, a diamond in thecenter from which radiates all the hues of the morning. Theshaft of sunlight lifts from the water and touches the treesand the flowers, building a silvery avenue far into theghostly valley. Shadows of the mountains guarding thethrone grow shorter and lighter. Woodlands take on change from black to gray. Birds waken fromtheir slumber and pour forth their welcome to the sun whichis peeping above the crown of the hills. Perhaps during the night the elfs that
