Kennedy served with the Battalion sent out for service in Japan in 1864-66, and present at thebombardment of the batteries at the Straits of Simonosaki, the entrance of the inland sea of Japan, and carriedthe Colours of the 1st Battalion at the assault canture and destruction of the five batter
