Head 2 to 2\ times as long as broad ; snout rather pointed, not or but slightly projecting beyond mouth, not longer than eye, which is contained 3J to 4 times in length of head; interorbital width equal to diameter of eye or a little greater; mouth extending to below anterior border of pupil or centre of eye; no barbels; suborbital bones nearly.
