Indian paramilitary forces stand guard on the semi-deserted streets of Srinagar as restrictions continue in Srinagar and in the Kashmir Valley for the 47 th consecutive day. The clampdown in Kashmir was implemented on 5 th August at the time of the announcement by the central government of the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the Jammu and Kashmir State.
