As a member of the Repub-lican State Central Committee, he was the leader ofRepublican politics in Warwick, and a vital factor indirecting the policies of the party in the State. Col-onel Harrington was a prominent figure in club andfraternal circles in the city of Providence. He hadattained to the thirty-second degree in the Masonicorder, and was a member of Wafwick Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Jilasons, Chapter Royal Arch Masons, and Calvary Commander
