Low-magnification light micrograph showing a human thyroid gland stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Several large thyroid follicles are seen. In the centre of the follicle is a homogeneous-looking colloid surrounded by a simple cubic epithelium. Among the follicles is an abundant, relatively fibrous connective tissue stroma. Magnification: x180 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
