A taana (Horse Transport) is a light horse-drawn carriage used for transportation in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. There are some transportation which are parts of culture of Bangladesh. In rural areas Bullock cart, Buffalo cart and Tomtom (Horse cart) are commonly used. Taana’s are a popular mode of transportation because they are fun to ride in, and are usually cheaper to hire than a taxi or rickshaw. The Nawab Murshid Quli Khan made Murshidabad the capital city of Sube-Bangla, comprising of Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. The East India Company reigned from here for many years after the Battle of Plessey; Travelers extolled its glory through ages.
