Nicoll seemsto show more promise in this direction. The color and technique of hispictures are very clever and interesting, and well illustrate the sea as itlooks to a landsman from terra Jirma. Both of these artists have paintedextensively in aquarelle, in which medium they have achieved some im-portant results; which may justly be added
