A bronze statue of a saddened infantryman holding his helmet and rifle is the centerpiece of the Arkansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the state capitol at Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. Around it is a wall inscribed with the names of 662 military men and women from Arkansas killed or missing in action during the war. The soldier statue was designed by John Deering, a political cartoonist for the Little Rock "Arkansas Democrat" newspaper, and it was dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 1987.
