In some parts of the citythere are such streams of people, that it always seems there like theFourth of July, or Election day. The shops are filled with beautifulthings, and the streets are crowded with coaches and carriages of Westminster Jilibey Lo7idon. 3. The palace of St. James is a dark old building, but the king haslately had a new one built for him, which is very hue. WestminsterAbbey is an old Gothic church, which strikes every beholder with ad-miration and wonder. St. Pauls is a more modern church, and isvery handsome. 4. I have not time to tell you of the other wonderful things inLondon, nor can I tell you of the other beautiful towns and cities inEngland. You must read about them in some larger book, or comeand see me of a long winter ni^ht. 5. I will then tell you of Manchester, where they make beautifulginghams, calicoes, and other goods ; of Birmingham, where theymake guns, pistols, swords, locks, and lamps; of Sheffield, where theymake knives, forks, and scissors ; and of other places, where they makea sjreat variety of articles. 6.
