It was explained to the parents that the removal of theadenoids was unquestionably indicated on account of the con-dition of the ears, and would probably prove beneficial in otherdirections. A large mass of adenoids was removed on August 25, September 7 the patient had ceased to be a mouth-breather ;the membranae tympani no longer showed pink; and sheheard a whisper at four yards. She was reported to sleepquietly and to be much brighter in herself, but the fits stillcontinued. I did not think of writing to the parents for four years, andthen (in 1902) they report
