Electric car and charger, IBM research. IBM scientist Dieter Gantenbein with a Vlotte electromobility car and an electric vehicle charging station, outside the IBM Industry Solutions Lab at IBM Research-Zurich, Switzerland. This charger has been designed with the companies Rittal and Beck IPC. All three companies are part of the EDISON research consortium (Electric Vehicles in a Distributed and Integrated Market using Sustainable Energy and Open Networks). This consortium aims to build a smart power grid for electric cars. Vlotte is an electric car scheme operated by the Austrian government. Photographed in July 2010.
