MEDITERRANEAN SEA (November 11, 2014) – Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Velena Taylor, from Washington , acknowledges a speed change aboard the Arliegh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) during exercise Mavi Balina 2014. Exercise Mavi Balina is a biennial Turkish-led anti-submarine warfare maritime exercise involving NATO and regional forces in the eastern Mediterranean to improve interoperability and increase tactical proficiencies.
