Due to lack of funding, the school in the Bajed Kandala Camp can not even afford to repair broken windows. There is no electricity supply to the school and there is no heating system. During the winter temperature can drop to as low as -5c. The Bajed Kandala IDP camp is hosting over 9000 Yazidi Internally Displaced Persons from Sinjar where they lost their homes to the ISIS militants in August 2014.
