APCs and T cells are both part of the body's immune system. Adoptive T cell therapy is a form of immunotherapy that takes these cells from a sample of a patient's blood, modifies them so that they will recognise the patient's cancerous cells and multiplies them in the lab. The patient receives an infusion of the cells, which attack any cancerous cells and destroy them. The inclusion of the APCs can increase the efficacy of the procedure.
