PALMISTRY - PALMISTIC HAND A hand depicting the traditional fixed readings related to various lines on the hand. For example the short sister line, parallel to the Line of Life is supposed to be an indicator of 'a plurality of wives'. Stars or crosses on the line parallel to the Line of Saturn are taken as indications of [stars], being killed in a duel, and [cross lines] being hurt in a duel. From The Book of Fate, 1873 edn.
