Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses following assault of girl-Beaconsfield Thursday 13 October 2016, 7:13pm Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the assault of 12-year-old girl in Beaconsfield. At around this morning (13/10) the girl was walking along Minerva Way towards Beaconsfield town centre. She was wearing a black waterproof coat with a fur-lined hood, with black skirt and black tights and carrying a white patent patchwork bag with a gold logo. She went to assist a man in woodland near to Wilton Park and was then physically assaulted by the man. The girl was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries, and has been kept in for overnight observation. The offender is a white man, 5 ft 9ins, normal build carrying slight weight, wearing all black clothing. He had a bald head. Investigating Officer, Det Insp, Jason Simpson of Force CID, said: “We are appealing for information in connection with this assault. “If anyone has seen a man matching the description in the vicinity of Wilton Park then please do get in touch. “We are also asking for anyone who saw a girl matching the description in Minerva Way to also come forward. “At this stage we are not linking this investigation to any other however we are keeping an open mind. “If you do have information please call the Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101, quoting the reference 562 13/10/16. Supt Yvette Hitch LPA Commander for Chiltern and South Bucks, said: “We are increasing patrols in the area in light of this worrying incident in which a girl has been assaulted. “We are working with local schools at this time to provide support to them, and there will be reassurance patrols at schools in the area from tomorrow morning."
