Abandoned and blighted property in New Orleans plagues large areas of the city.
New Orleans Ninth Ward has been slow to recover after Hurricane Katrina and is filled with vacant lots and blighted properties. Although the lawn of Carver High School is mowed, the building is blighted and filled with its pre-Katrina contents.
