Vintage prison photo of the American outlaw Butch Cassidy (1866 - c1908). Cassidy, real name Robert LeRoy Parker, was a notorious train and bank robber and a leader of the Wild Bunch Gang. Cassidy and his partner the Sundance Kid fled from the USA to South America in 1901 after robbing banks and trains throughout the American west and were apparently shot dead by Bolivian authorities in 1908. Some believe, however, that the pair escaped and returned to the United States. Photo taken circa 1893 at the Wyoming State Penitentiary in Laramie, Wyoming.
