There is an early or winter-flowering strain of ten weeks' stocks, embracing such sorts as Beauty of Nice, flesh pink; Queen Alexandra, rosy lilac; Rose of Nice, rose, and President Roosevelt, sil- ver lilac. These are sometimes called "Giants of Nice" and are excellent winter-blooming stocks. The giant or large-flowered ten weeks' stocks are bet- ter adapted for spring flowering and are specially serviceable for Memorial day trade. C.
