Originally described from a single female specimen collected on Mt. Washington, N. H., by Mrs. A. T. Slosson. In Minnesota, the writer has collected nymphs and adults on aspen {Populus tremuloides) but only on certain trees found along the shore 9f Lake Superior, just north of Two Harbors. Other trees of the same species, standing only a few feet back from the edge of the high bank which forms the shore line, did not produce specimens of candidatus. Mt. Washington, N.
