Thewooden poles areset with a rake oftwo and a halffeet, but are ex-pected to assumea rake of onlyten inches whenspan wires are inplace, the soil be-ing very iron polesare set in a con-crete foundation,and have a rakeof only twelveinches. On oneside of the streetthe poles are pro-vided with doublewooden crossarms, with twotop grooved insu-lators for carryingthe feed wires. Instead of end-ing the wires onthe ordinary cross arm, a special frame is made of angleiron, and firmly bolted to the top of the pole. Each feedwire is then ended and anchored to this frame by means ofan eyebolt, to which is attached a steam insulator.
