Nine Henry's book launch at the Stand Comedy Club, Newcastle
Washington author Peter McAdam launched his new book “The Nine Henry’s “ at the Stand Comedy club in Newcastle on Saturday 18th August The book billed as “The Worlds First Cloned Cartoon Character”, Nine Henry’s. The Nine Henry’s live in a strange lo-fi domestic surrealist world peopled by talking rock buns and elephants on wobbly stilts. Over the years the Henry's have been published in a variety of magazines and now here for the first time, they are brought together in a compendium of line art craziness. Peter drew the first, Henrys in 1994 and received at first a negative response, from his followers, even his brother chipped in with “a four year old could draw better than that” Undeterred, Peter admits, cheerfully that “I haven’t go drawing skills” “Sometimes I can be watching the TV or listening to the radio and I see a Henry. That’s how the creative process is.” Peter’s book launch featured performances by Martin Stephenson and Gypsy Dave Smith + Guests The book is published by Gonzo Distributors
