Roots are 4 inches wide at top and taper to a 2inch diam. ter at bottom. Length from 5 to 6 inches. Roots are very free from hard core and ofthe finest quality for table use. Both skin and flesh are highly colored. Being very short they areeasily pulled from the ground, where the long sorts often have to be dug in heavy soil.
