From this time the attention of the nursing bees is much more incessantly given to the royal larvae, than to that of the workers or drones, and they are fed with what appears to be a much more stimulating food than that given to the others; it has not the same sickening taste, but is somewhat acid, and is given in such quantity, that a part al waj s remains in the cell after the queen leaves it. It is thus "forced" as it were, into a more full and rapid development of all its organs, and in five days from its being hatched, it is ready to open its web preparatory to its transformation, and the bees enclose it by.
