OCEAN (April 9, 2017) Electronics Technician 1st Class Kyle Rushing, from Bothell, Wash., repairs a circuit card aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100) while underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests the mission readiness of the strike group's assets through simulated real-world scenarios and their ability to perform as an integrated unit.
