Henry Bennet, 1st Earl of Arlington, 17th century English statesman, (mid 19th century). Bennet (1618-1685) was a prominent statesman of the Restoration period. He fought during the English Civil War and received a wound on the bridge of his nose at Andover in 1644. He covered the scar with a black plaster.
