The Celtic style cross which commemorates the life of Caedmon (), the earliest English Poet whose name is recorded. The cross stands in the grounds of St Mary's Church at Whitby in North Yorkshire, England. Bede writes of Caedmon, who composed Caedmon's Hymn.
