It is surrounded by hard-wood hills, and w^ith the exception of theshores of the many lakes the greater partof the woods to the south and west formany miles is the grandest hardwood Iever travelled though. Black Cherry from four to eighteen in-ches in diameter at the stump and reach-ing a height of from twenty to forty feet-The Birch and Maple are very large andclean. There is little under growth andthe travelling is good. It is a fine sightto see a lot of deer with flags up bound-ing along over these hills. Sunday we spent at camp and we hada heavy fall of snow. On Monday westarted for Marion lake, travelling north-west across Maggies lake through Dalelake to Marion. Here we struck thewest boundary of the Park and followedit to Fox lake returning by Frog, Hardyand Winifred lakes to Maggies. Theseare little pine clad lakes surrounded withthe grandest hardwood. The creeks arealive with Beaver, Otter and Mink andwe visited some fine beaver dams andhouses. We remained at Maggies laketill the morning of the eighteenth, visit-ing Minnow lake and following Minkcreek to the camp of the Huntsville Lum-ber Co., where we were compelled tohave a g
