Odeon Cinema, Swiss Cottage, Camden, London, 1937. Artist: John Maltby.

Odeon Cinema, Swiss Cottage, Camden, London, 1937. Oscar Deutsch established the Odeon cinema chain in 1933, and Odeon became a registered trade mark. His cinemas followed a style, embracing the modern movement and Art Deco, and many were new builds designed by Harry Weedon. Weedon and Basil Herring designed the Odeon in Swiss Cottage, which opened in 1937, and is unusual in being of red brick.
