Detail view of the tender axle box of a UK built steam locomotive that worked in Turkey

This locomotive, designed by Sir William Stanier of the LMS, was built by the North British Loco company in 1943 as a standard wartime freight engine and exported to Turkey where it worked until the 1980s. It was photographed at the National Railway Museum's Shildon Locomotion site, where it was being held prior to restoration.
