St Dunstan in the East, Church in the City of London. In 1693 the City Churches Commissioners approved the rebuilding of the steeple, which had become unstable. The new tower and steeple were built between 1695 and 1701 in the Gothic style. Four curved flying arches, held in place by the weight of large pinnacles, rise from the corners of the tower to support the long tapering needle spire
