Taiko Konno (aged 60, wearing blue boots, long coat) and Tomoe Katsumata (aged 70, wearing short black coat) lay flowers on the muddy plain where once stood their community of Kamaya, as they prepare to hold a private memorial service for family who died, on the 1 year anniversary of the March 11th 2011 earthquake and tsunami, in Kamaya, Tohoku region, Japan on Sunday 11th March 2012. Konno-san lost 14 relatives in the tsunami, including her elder sister. Katsumata-san lost 4 relatives in the disaster.
