The red brick 1848-49 Salford Branch Viaduct, in the background of the shot, is the most northerly of the four large railway viaducts that cross the Castlefield Canal Basin. The Y-Club Sports and Leisure Centre, in the foreground, is a feature of the Castlefield Urban Heritage Park's regeneration of a an old industrial canal basin into a modern tourist attraction.
