A Turkish silver-mounted sabre for navy officers, circa 1900. Double fullers on both sides, one half of the single-edged blade blued and decorated with gilt maritime symbols. Openwork silver knuckle-bow hilt with folding guard plate at back. The hilt with tughra and silver mark at bottom and an anchor in relief above a crescent moon. Leather grip of later date with silver wire winding. Shagreen leather-covered wooden scabbard, copper wire-stitched, with florally chased and stamped silver mounts, the front side of the locket bearing an anchor.
