Martian landscape. This HiRISE image shows a fairly small (less than 5km) impact crater located within the much larger and older Arago Crater. Arago may have once contained a giant lake. Our interest in this unnamed crater is to examine the surface textures, roughness, and small-scale characteristics. Note the dark slope streaks that likely formed recently, and like other streaks, will eventually fade over is less than 5 km (3 mi) across and is 275 km (171 miles) above the surface. A unique optimised version of NASA imagery. Credit: NASA/JPL/UArizona
