NEW AND RARE FERNS. Aspleililim XidUS Avis {Bird's-nest Fern). We have now, foi' tlie first lime, a fine lot of this rare and interesting Fern. Good strong plants, $ each. Nephrolepis Cordata Coiupacta. In our estimation this variety is the finest of all the Sword Ferns; il is of free, compact habit, attaining when fully grown a height of about 2 feet. The fronds are of a dark green color, very rich, of upright growth, Vifith just sufficient arch in them to make them graceful. For house culture or for window gardening, we do not know of any other variety that would give the same satisfaction and which we could recommend so highly. We offer three sizes : Strong 3-inch pots, 25 cts. each. Strong 4-inch pots, 50 cts. each. Specimen plants in 6-inch pots, § each. Nephrolepis Exaltata Bostoiiiensis (" The Bos- ton Sword Fein "). A variety which originated in the vicinity of Boston, where it has been in popular favor for a number of years under the name of Boston Fern. In the vicinity of Boston no other plant is used so extensively as this graceful Nephrolepis, which differs from the ordinary Fern in having much longer fronds, which frequently attain a length of 4 feet. These fronds arch and droop over very gracefully, on account of which it is frequently called the Fountain Fern. This drooping habit makes it an excellent plant to grow as a single specimen on a table or pedestal. Good plants 25 cts. each. Strong plants 50 cts. each. Nephrolepis Davalli- oides Multiceps. A distinct variety of N. Daval- lioides Furcans, from which it differs in the pinnx be- ing much narrower and more forked, the fronds terminating in a branching crest of finely cut and di- vided growths ; a most de- sirable variety. 50c. each.
