NEW ENGLAND RAILWAYS ADVERTISING OF PARKS ANDOTHER ATTRACTIONS The Boston & Northern and Old Colony Street Railways,who own and operate nearly 900 miles of track north andsouth of Boston, have five pleasure parks where entertain-. additions and improvements. Many amusement enterprises,such as roller-skating rinks, boxball bowling, merry-go-rounds,as well as a collection of monkeys, have been added this year,while swings and rustic benches abound among the trees. Infour of these parks boating may be enjoyed. The official opening day for these resorts for ithe season of1905 was set for Monday, June 26. On this day the theaterswere opened, each with a different play, together with a bandconcert and a grand display of fireworks in the evening. Thetheaters have been enlarged so as to seat more people thanever before, and the auditoriums have been covered to protect
