Bangarra Dance Company Contemporary Australian Theater Arts Indigenous Womadelaide Spirit Performance 2011

Fusing the traditional with the contemporary through a connection to the spirit of the land and its people, Bangarra draws on cultural traditions that resonate over at least 60,000 years. Choreographed by Stephen Page and Frances Rings and set to an evocative musical soundscape by David Page and Steve Francis, Spirit is a celebration of the resilience of Indigenous culture. From the last breath of sunset to the first finger-light of dawn, the audience experiences a powerful engagement with the best of Bangarra’s repertoire performed by a new generation of Indigenous dancers.
