Unstan Chambered Cairn probably dates from the third millennium BC and was in use over a long period of time. It can still be entered through the original entrance where a short passage leads to a drystone walled chamber divided by sandstone slabs; there is also a small side cell. The tomb was excavated in 1884 and found to contain a number of burials and grave goods in the form of distinctive pottery bowls, now known as Unstan ware. The site is in the care of Historic Scotland with open access.
