Mr. Pugh was born in Chester county, Pa., in 1833,and removed to Wilmington, Delaware, at an early age,where he lived and attended school until he was 14 yearsold. ^At that time he removed to Philadelphia andaccepted a position in a fancy goods store, remaining thereuntil he was 21.
