The Callraaf Konoe Nobuhiro (1599-1649), priestname ozan, also trained in poetry, the tea ceremony and incense game, played an important role in artificial life to the Imperial Court of the first half of the 17th century. He was in the same circles as the Calligraaf and Ceramist Hon'ami Koetsu (1558-1637); The teahouse shown is in Koetsu's style and has similarities with the bowl? 'Azuma'. The drawing on the bowl is reminiscent of the round hills of Takagamine, visible here by the opened sliding doors of (scanned) the DaiiKyoan temple. The atmosphere of the landscape is illustrated by fujiwara Toshinari shown above the hills (1114-1204): 'Yo no naka yo michi koso nakere omoi iRU YAMA no oku ni mo shika so naru' ('there is no escape I think the world.
