Thatschool is still in existence, and contains neaily four hundred pupils,with seventeen branches, all in the city, except one in the suburb,near by, containing about eleven hundred pupils, and an adultschool, with fifty or sixty. Besides these, there is a governmentschool, with nearly as many pupils; a government college, withsome forty or fifty students; an oriental university, under govern-ment auspices, with a law-school attached ; a government medicalcollege; a male and a female normal school, with a few girls
