At its meeting in February last, the executive appointed a vice-presi- dent for each province as provided by the constitution. There are signs al- ready that this new interest if kept alive will be of great value in th? broadening and strengthening of the organization. At this meeting appli- cation was received for the foi-mation of a retailers' sub-section. Permission was heartily granted and this sub- section is now an accomplished fact. We welcome the development and are sure that while specially caring for retailers' problems, the child will keep in mind the greater needs and in its ap- pointment of offlcers will select men who will rally round the parent association. Among the many public activities of your president, it was a pleasure in September last to carry a greeting and welcome on your behalf to the first Canadian convention of the American Association of Cemetery Superintend- ents. This was one of the strongest horticultural conventions ever held in Canada, the greeting from the national society being much appreciated. These are just hints of some of the opera- tions of your officers during the year. May I be allowed to express my per- sonal sincere thanks to my fellow offi- cers, one and all, for their support and co-operation?
