The town of Yelets is closely connected with the name of the Noble Prize laureate in the field of literature Bunin. Here he spent his young years, while studying at the local gymnasium. The 125th anniversary from the day of his birth was celebrated with the opening of two monuments in Yelets: in the square situated in Sverdlov Street (opposite the fountain) and in the Town Park. The sculptor Grishko showed the writer sitting on the bench and thinking near the fountain. Город Елец неразрывно связан с именем лауреата Нобелевской премии в области литературы Ивана Алексеевича Бунина. Именно здесь он провел свои юношеские годы, когда учился в местной гимназии. 125-летие со дня рождения писателя в Ельце отметили открытием 2 памятников: в сквере по улице Свердлова (напротив фонтана) и в городском парке. Возле фонтана писатель изображен сидящим в раздумье на скамье. Скульптор Ю.Д. Гришко.
