Seiryo-den (Emperor's Residence), Kyoto Imperial Palace, Kyoto, Japan
The current Kyoto Imperial Palace was reconstructed in 1855 after it had burnt down and been moved around Kyoto many times over the centuries. It was the residence of the Imperial Family until 1868 when the capitol was moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. The Seiryo-den was was restored in the original style of the Emperor’s residence during the Heian Period. and contains an Imperial Throne in the center.
