Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) separating (and eating) the seed from the fleshy berry of guilder rose and common buckththorn.


Although they appear to be eating those delicious looking berries they are really after the seeds within. This is called mandibulating and the fleshy part of the berry is dropped to the floor where blackbirds are usually waiting for this free lunch.
