In case it is neces- sary to feed colonies in order to stimulate brood- rearing or to provide stores for winter or dur- ing a period when no nectar is available, various types of feeders may be used. The construction of these is in- dicated in the illustrations (Figs. 105, 106, 107 and 108), given in connection with the discussion of feeding (p. 240).
